The fourth edition of the Austrian Samba Festival - I WILL BE THERE!
There are many ways to actively participate in the festival and become part of the samba family. You can choose from various workshops or suupport us as a volunteer. If you need accommodation as a participant, we will also be happy to help you.
You can choose between the workshops Samba Percussion Beginner, Samba Bateria Advanced, Samba Dance, Afro-Brazilian Dance and Yodeling.
Volunteers

We offer all participants help with booking accommodation in the Lehrlingshaus Hartberg – just a 7-minute walk from the main square.
All rooms are 4-bed rooms, this is also the standard occupancy, breakfast is included.

Samba Percussion Beginner
Friday, 2:00-3:30 pm
Music school
This workshop is aimed at anyone aged 12 and over who has little or no experience with classical samba instruments. The workshop takes place with Clarissa Altmann at the music school. During this time you can try out the instrument of your choice and learn a piece that will be presented in a short performance on the stage on the main square in Hartberg from 4.00 pm. The instruments will be provided by us. Please note that there is a fee for this workshop.
Batucada
Bateria Advanced
Saturday, 09:30-1:30 pm
Music school
This will take place under the direction of our star guest Julian Kramper alias Mestre Macarrao and Clarissa Altmann at the music school. Together they will rehearse a song in the style of Samba Carioca. And in between there will be excursions into other rhythms. What has been learned will be presented during the parade at 5 pm and on stage. Please note that there is a fee for this workshop.
Sunday, 1:00-2:30 pm
Rooms at Kirchplatz
The yodeling workshop will be led by Vinzenz Härtel and Jojo Gansch, who have many years of experience and, above all, enjoy yodeling. The aim of the workshop is to rehearse one or two yodels or alpine songs and perform them on the festival stage at around 2.50 pm. No previous knowledge is necessary, just a desire to sing! Please note there is a fee for this workshop.
Afro-Brazilian Dance
Saturday, 10:30-12:30 pm
Rooms at Kirchplatz
Aim of the workshop: immerse yourself in Brazilian culture and learn more about Afro-Brazilian dance. It will be led by Anderson Pinheiro da Silva. The Brazilian received his training at the BCOA – Ballet cultural origens Africana Dance Company, among others.

Samba Dance Beginner
Friday, 2:45-4:15 pm
Rooms at Kirchplatz
Workshop from 6 years, no previous knowledge necessary with Luciana Sousa. You will learn the basics of samba dancing. Let yourself get infected by the energy and joie de vivre of Brazilian music and discover how much fun dancing can be! Bring a towel, sports shoes and something to drink and come in sportswear.
